A Review of the Hannspree Hannsbook

It was beyond the expectations of many that Hannspree would enter the netbook market, but that’s exactly what it has done. Tracking down the Hannsbook, you will discover that it offers a 10.1 inch screen, an Intel Atom CPU and a 160GB hard drive, a package that comes for around £250. This netbook doesn’t necessarily break the netbook mould as one would expect due to the amount of publicity it received before its release, but it is well designed and boasts an extraordinary battery life.

While all netbooks are designed to be ultra portable, the Hannspree Hannsbook scores the highest when it comes to the portability feature. This means that it can be hurled in a backpack and carried around on daily adventures. A great advantage is its lean size that measures 265x31x230mm and weighs a mere 1.3kg.

Talking of looks, the Hannspree Hannsbook looks pretty darn modish and stylish, and very classy. The netbook boasts a glossy coating with a very shiny interior that can only be described as simply ‘shinesplosion’. Importantly however, there isn’t a glossy coating as one would expect on the 10.1 inch, 1,024X600 pixel screen display.

What this means is that when using the gadget, you will not be bothered by irritating screen reflections brought about by light sources. Certainly this display is sufficiently bright thus seeing what you are doing on the netbook shouldn’t be an issue.

It further features a VGA output, three USB ports, a multi-format card reader, 2 3.5mm sockets for a mic and headphones, an in-built 1.3-megapixel webcam, and an Ethernet jack. On the inside, this netbook is just like your everyday netbook, has a 1.66GHz Intel Atom 4450 CPU and a 1GB of Random Access Memory. The battery life of this netbook is impressive as it offers circa 5 hours when on intensive use meaning you can get a longer battery life if you will have a less intensive use.

In a nutshell, the Hannspree Hannsbook is an absolutely decent netbook. Well, it doesn’t offer any extraordinary features when it comes to hardware but it boasts a great design, a usable trackpad, and more importantly an impressive battery life.
