Netbook Market Analysis

Over at umpc they have recently been looking at the Netbook and laptop market trends in relation to screen size. It seems that of the sub 12″ screen sizes the 10″ netbooks are the most popular. According to UMPC, “The 10 and 11” screen sizes now make up 93.5% of the sub-12″ devices in the German market. Nearly all of these are netbooks”.

It’s interesting to see that recently screen sizes seemed to be going smaller and smaller, but now, the consumer seems to feel that the original 10″ netbook size is where it’s happy for it to stay. Potentially, if the new generation of ultraportable devices are able to provide enough power we may see this trend begin to reverse again.
