Dell’s Latest Netbook Set to Dominate

Worldwide PC manufacturer, Dell has recently announced the launch of the updated Inspiron Mini 1011 netbook priced at a rather affordable £279. Taking advantage of Intel’s new N450 processor architecture, Dell has created a little machine that’s fast, functional and an absolute bargain. With all the usual features you’d expect such as 802.11n Wi-Fi and a rather generous 10.1″ display, Dell have done well with their latest creation.

Looking at the specs of the new Inspiron Mini, you may be mistaken for thinking that it’s actually not a netbook but a well-featured ultra-portable. What sets this machine apart from the crowd is the fact that it comes as standard with a huge 92% keyboard. While the computer may ship with a relatively standard configuration of Windows 7 Starter and 1GB of RAM, that huge keyboard will itself be a major boost in productivity and a huge timesaver when compared to the competition.

Alongside the huge almost full-size keyboard, you will be pleased to note that Dell have also ensured that it’s possible to enjoy HD movies and more from this little netbook. The Inspiron Mini 1011 features a number of innovations, and perhaps one of the most useful is the video up scaling mode which converts its default 1024×600 display into a near HD 1366 x 760. In an area where netbooks have previously lacked, Dell is starting to come up trumps with the winning combination of easy to use keyboard, high quality display panel and all the enhancements you’d expect from a Dell machine.

The good news is that the Dell Inspiron Mini 1011 is already available for order at just £279 from Dell’s website. Weighing just 1.3kg and with 1024MB of ram and with a 160 GB hard disk, the default configuration may be basic, but it’s clear that the focus on this little netbook isn’t power, but accessibility and ease of use.
