Fujitsu has made a comeback after the end of a successful joint venture with Siemens in the year 2009. The Fujitsu Lifebook P-Series offers a very thin, netbook-like chassis but has more power hidden in it. The latest entry in the P-series is the LifeBook P3110, which goes for a clean £599. It boasts a crisp 11.6-inch display with 1366 x 768-pixel resolution which counters the super reflectivity of the Super-TFT coating that may compromise outdoor use.

Despite being very thin and lacking of many features that netbooks of the same price range have, the build is of a high impressive quality with a sleek lid that proves perfect for life on the road. It has a flat keyboard stretching as far as the width of the chassis and is quite user-friendly save for the cramped directional keys. It also has a responsive and smooth touchpad. The LifeBook P3110 weighs 1.5kg meaning it is ultra portable and with over 315 minutes of battery life, you can easily work with the machine for over 5 hours without recharging it.

Graphical performance is handled by an integrated Intel GPU with the machine itself being powered by a core Intel Pentium processor with 4096MB of memory aboard. Wireless connectivity is taken care of by 802.11n Wi-Fi, it supports Bluetooth connectivity and connection to wired networks is made possible by the standard 10/100 Ethernet.

You get 4-in-1 card reader, 3USB Ports, a VGA port, and 320GB hard drive. Because of the compact size, you shouldn’t expect to get any optical drive but this well built and ultra portable machine which has more power than most netbooks in the market satisfies the needs of the average day-to-day use and will not disappoint.

Just how slim can a netbook get? Well as slim/thin as you care to imagine. Business professionals are always in search of computing devices that are not only portable but also very powerful, and it seems that the Fujitsu brand have heeded to this call and debuted a glossy slim netbook – the Lifebook MH330. This netbook promises to be the unrivaled ‘road warrior’, ready to be carried around anywhere without weighing the bag down.

Apparently, it is one of the slimmest mini notebooks in the market, weighing 2.4pounds and measuring only 0.73 inches in the front and 0.96 inches in the back. It further features a spill-resistant keyboard, making it all the more a travel-friendly netbook.

Fujitsu was successful in packing very decent specs inside this tiny chassis, making the netbook light without compromising on its productivity. Some of the notable features include:

Intel® Atom™ N450 processor

1GB RAM

250 GB Hard Disk Drive

Bluetooth® v2.1

5-in-1 Card reader Slot

Wireless LAN 802.11b/g/n

10.1-inch WSVGA backlit LED display (1024 x 600 resolution, 400:1 contrast ratio)

Built-in webcam and dual stereo speakers

3-Cell battery

The MH330 has a DVD sharing application that makes up for the lack of a DVD drive where you can still enjoy wireless connection of optical disk drives with other computers. The Spill –Resistant keyboard on the other hand protects the netbook from any accidental spillage to make sure that all accessories remain intact. If you are concerned about playing your role in the ‘greening’ up campaign, you can rest assured that this laptop adheres to a green factory concept; hence it’s an energy efficient device.

In a nutshell, the Fujitsu Lifebook MH330 is a great computing device that doesn’t need any external storage device as it comes equipped with a fairly large hard drive disk space. Not only is the netbook ideal for business but also for entertainment, thanks to the connectivity features that will keep you entertained and in touch with family and friends no matter how far away you might be.
